James made what is a difficult time so much easier to face and to deal with. After using a well known larger funeral company only 2 years ago, the high quality and good value offered by Peace Funerals clearly stood out to us. Peace dealt with both my dad’s (2021) and mum’s (2024) funerals. The team were all genuinely caring, kind and sensitive as well as very helpful, especially as my mum’s passing was traumatic. Pricing was reasonable and transparent. They dealt with everything and found us a wonderful celebrant - Kevin - whose services did my parents proud. Everyone has been great but I’d like to say a particular thankyou to Gavin at Grenoside and Liz at Gleadless, they were both very patient and really thorough in making sure everything went to plan whilst ensuring there was no pressure, it’s been hugely appreciated. We cannot recommend Peace Funerals enough .Dads funeral was the third family member that has taken place in Peace Funeral care . James and the team are truly dedicated to taking all the stress away from organising such an emotional occasion . Every member of staff that we came into contact with whether it be by phone or in person were extremely professional, respectful and caring . We felt totally able to leave Dad in their care and knew he would be treated with dignity and respect . The funeral day went totally to plan with no hitches whatsoever . We decided to use peace funerals for my beloved mum who died at the age of 53, on 13.10.23. We had been recommended peace funerals from a few people, and being 28 at the time I had no idea what services to use. Mum went into the care of peace with such dignity and respect. We first met Claire when we went to visit mum in the chapel of rest, and we instantly bonded thanks to her kind heart and warm approach. Claire knew we needed so much support when we lost mum, and nothing was ever too much for her to deal with for us. Claire hugged me and wiped my tears when I needed them, and empathised with us like we were her own loved ones. Claire was the person you needed when you’d lost your mum, and needed some guidance on how you’d ever get through life without your loved one. My love and respect for this amazing lady cannot be spoken in words. The staff at the funeral home always made sure mum looked immaculate, and peaceful. They were honest and supportive with all questions asked, and always polite when you entered the building. Staff knew that we wanted to spend as long as possible in the chapel of rest, and guaranteed us a visit whenever we asked. Carl Taylor was the celebrant in charge of mums funeral, and we can’t thank him enough. How can someone who has never met my mum speak so passionately and empathetically about her life? We were blown away at her service, and he really supported me and my brother in standing up to deliver our tributes. There aren’t enough words to say how much we thank you as a family. I was really pleased with the service and care my family received when planning my Dad's funeral. Claire was very respectful, kind, and supportive. Grace the celebrant really listened to what we all hoped for and helped us celebrate my lovely father. Lots of people said how loved Dad was and it really was a good experience. I am so glad we decided to go with Peace Funerals (Halifax road) for the funeral of my mum. Everything from start to finish was made simple and they really showed us how much they care about the people they are looking after and their families. Charlie did everything he could to make the day go a smoothly as possible even after I’d had so many questions as it was my first time doing anything like this. David Hudson, our Celebrant, was equally fantastic. How he put all the information we gave into such a beautiful eulogy was truly amazing! We’ve had so many lovely responses from family and friends who attended the funeral, or watched online, on how David captured my dad’s life and personality to a tee. My dad was a true gentleman which came across perfectly. We will miss him dearly, my mum especially, but as funerals go, we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect. Excellent and professional service throughout. A real pleasure to meet James, Kevin and the team. Ensuring all aspects of the service was done to best of their ability. James came to my home and we discussed what we wanted for Mum. So caring and professional. We asked for roses to place on the coffin and James brought them to my home the day before, giving us time to write on the cards and to pass them to others to do so too. Due to work men in car park area, James visited Mum's address several times, talked to the supervisor to arrange getting the cars near to the house. James also walked in front of the cars, leaving the house and when we approached the crematorium. I thought that was a lovely touch. Made us feel even more special. Kevin came to my home too to discuss Mum's life. So professional. He ensured we got it right by rearranging the flow when last minute things changed. I cannot praise this team enough. Caring, friendly and very professional throughout.

At a time when our world was turned upside down it was good to be able to rely on a personal recommendation for Peace Funerals. From beginning to end we were supported by the kindest, most understanding and gentle people we could have wished for. Dad was collected from the house as a person and not an object, with full respect and consideration. At our meeting, James Fair magically put us at ease and allowed the discussion to move at our pace, providing information but not steering us, so we felt very positive when we left. Throughout, James seemed to be able to anticipate what support would be needed and when. It's hard to describe how Peace Funerals staff manage to be both unobtrusive and absolutely there for you at all times, but they do!

How to rate a funeral directors? Peace Funerals at Gleadless, Sheffield, were recommended to me and I am glad I took the advice. Nice small company, friendly, and very competent. They made a difficult task as painless as it could be. They never pushed services to raise the cost. Their caskets are very reasonably priced. They offered a florist, Jane, and celebrant, Grace, who were equally easy to work with. They kept in touch regularly throughout proceedings. The day itself went without a hitch. Peace funerals handled my Mum's funeral with such care. We were lucky enough to be looked after by James, at the Gleadless branch, who treat us all with respect and kindness throughout and made us feel comfortable. We had first used Peace Funerals in 2014 when my nan passed away after being recommended them by a friend of the family and were very impressed at the time so they were the natural choice to arrange my mum's service. In the last 2 yrs we have to turn to Peace Funerals three times. We used Peace Funerals for the first time when my father in law passed and then again when sadly my mum passed away , they were considerate and patient and helped us navigate the process through the emotional times and just in April we turned to them again when our beloved Matriach mum and Nannan and mother in law passed. Throughout each devastating passing they allowed us time to make decisions and kept in touch. My Father In Law and Mother In Law died unexpectedly, some 6 weeks apart early in 2023. Living several hundred miles away, all arrangements had to be made via phone or email. After initially selecting Peace Funerals from online research, I had the pleasure and good fortune to deal with Charlie from then on. Charlie could not have been more helpful and accommodating, particularly with some of our rather more unusual requests! Nothing was too much trouble, even though he hadn't encountered some of our requests before. More than anything, he understood how we would like the funerals to be conducted, ensuring he recommended the right celebrant to fit the mood of the occasion, and a florist who was able to perfectly meet our particular requirements. During what has been a particularly traumatic time for our family, Charlie and celebrant Carl Taylor ensured that Ron and Janet had the perfect send-off, something for which the whole family are extremely grateful.

I kept contacting Gavin with what I thought were silly questions sometimes asking the same thing twice when your mind is all over the place. I called the in a couple of times and were greeted by their lovely office staff too - making notes of things you were worried about or certain things you wanted doing. I had used peace funerals 5 years ago when u lost my lovely dad. I hadn't arranged a funeral before so I Google local funeral directors to get me started. I found peace funerals website. It was easy to use, navigate and most importantly for me the costings were easy to find out so I didn't have to worry about the final bill being more then I could afford while also giving my dad a funeral he deserved. This time round my lovely mum has sadly passed away. I knew straight away I wanted to use peace. The staff are second to none, friendly, polite and genuinely care. Charlie was wonderful and showed great care and compassion. The ladies in the office at the Halifax Road branch were equally as lovely when I went to visit my mum. (sorry I didn't get any names) one of the ladies on my final visit to my mum even offered to come in with my to the Chapel of rest which was a thoughtful gesture. The service on the day was also just how we wanted it. The flowers all arranged in the herse beside my lovely mum. The gentlemen that assisted Charlie were also lovely and very respectful. I would choose no other funeral director for my family .. hopefully I don't have to arrange another funeral for a very long time but if I did, i know Charlie and the peace team would look after me and my loved one.

A very professional and respectful service from beginning to end. I have no reservations in recommending Peace Funerals. James Fair was our designated contact. Communication was clear and regular, he covered all our concerns and took a lot of worry from our shoulders. I particularly like the Memorial page, ‘Muchloved’, which enabled comments and photographs to be posted and online charitable donations to our named charities. The celebrant organised by Peace, Ben Oliver, was excellent and very personable. Timings and organisation on the day of mum’s cremation were precise, the drive passed her neighbourhood and James walking before the hearse, both by her house and at arrival at Hutcliffe Wood, were much appreciated. I really couldn't commend Gavin and his team at Peace Funerals enough. From our initial telephone calls to the day of our Mum's funeral nothing was ever too much trouble. We knew we didn't want to hold our Mum's funeral in a crematorium and when we chose Whirlowbrook Hall as our venue Gavin even met the family and the events coordinator to see how best he could meet our wishes. The whole funeral went off perfectly, with Gavin even arranging for the service to be livestreamed as part of the immediate family live in Australia. It takes a certain kind of person to be a funeral director, and I think it is a role that suits Gavin perfectly. The whole team were compassionate, kind and extremely easy to deal with. We hope it may be some time before we need Gavin and his team again, but we wouldn't hesitate if we did. Highly recommended

Cannot praise Peace Funerals enough after they were engaged to conduct the funeral ceremony of my later father Peter or Pete as he was known to many. A personalised approach right from the very first phone call, although not unsurprising due to the 'family' nature of the business. Peace funerals made a difficult time straight forward Gavin was very helpful and on the day of the funeral he was brilliant. We visited the funeral home the lady on reception was very nice too even though we knew when we went in the chaple of rest the coffin would be closed due to my husband dying of covide. We left items to go in the coffin and Galvin saw to that for us. On learning Ian Bennett was a Wednesdayite Galvin arranged for the hearse to go one last time around all 4 stands of the ground. The celebrate Dyane Fisher did a lovely service and is so easy to talk to. I would recommend both peace funerals on Halifax Road and Dyane Fisher they gave us a very good service

I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for a funeral directors. Their service was exemplary. They were kind caring and listened to what you wanted and acted on them without prompting taking off any pressure. Service is rare these days but they deserve a gold medal for what they did. Can't speak highly enough of them especially Charlie and his team yesterday at my dad's funeral. Thank you for everything

From the first telephone conversation with Roberta who took all the details, then to Stephen the funeral director who was always on hand with any questions we needed answering. The funeral at South Yorkshire Woodland Burial Grounds was so peaceful in such lovely surroundings, everything Mum wanted she got, even under the restraints due to Covid 19 the team were amazing and very professional throughout. All I knew was that I didn’t want a run-of-the-mill service followed by a standard cremation. I didn’t want religious and I didn’t want miserable. Thanks to Stephen, I achieved the most appropriate send-off that I could possibly have had. The Manorial Barn provided the ideal meeting place for the 100 + friends who came to say farewell and the wood at Ulley is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. I really cannot praise Peace Funerals highly enough. From the very first phone call (on a Sunday) the service was exceptional. We lost my father in February 2013 (the first family loss for me), I was suffering badly, was completely lost and terrified of the process. Then I met Gavin who put me completely at ease, getting me to talk about dad and asking me to show him a picture. We held the meeting at home where I felt relaxed and comfortable. Gavin’s manner and expertise throughout the meeting almost made me forget the loss I felt and even made me laugh at some of the memories we talked about. Once all our choices were made Gavin made sure we understood that we could change our minds on any aspect of the funeral at any time (which I did on various occassions). Nothing was too much trouble. When the day arrived I couldn’t have asked for a more professional, compassionate group of people to help me though (from Gavin through to the drivers and the pall bearers) every one of them were outstanding. We don’t like to think of family passing in the future, but when they do, I know that I’ll be in the best hands possible using Peace Funerals and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. Many thanks to them all.
